Family Games out this week - 29th June - GamePro Family

Summer has well and truly arrived this week as we see a second Movie franchise tie-in in as many weeks come along. This time it’s Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince that sees a release onto all platforms possible.

The previous Potter games have been decent affairs, carrying the essence of the films and adding a few nice touches on the way. None of them have been perfect however and I hope the delayed release of the film has given the developers a little more time to polish up the game.

Also hitting the movie theme this week is Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs. In this game you’ll get to play six characters from the film and it even has some multiplayer mini-games to play as well. This looks to be a more traditional movie tie-in game so I’d advise checking some reviews before splashing out.

Over in Europe Harry Potter has his release all primed and ready as well, but the bigger news is the arrival of Tiger Woods 10 with Wii Motionplus. I’ve heard and seen very positive reviews of this game on the Wii and being a casual golf fan it could well be the definitive golf game I could get. Having a family golf party always ended in heartbreak for me when it was at an actual real gold course – so this virtual offering with the accessibility of the Wii could give me some happy memories again!
