A light week of family game releases after the more mature Halo 3: ODST (M) dominates the videogame airwaves this week. But filling out the other releases is Spyborgs (T) on the Wii which takes on the superhero genre and adds a bit of cybernetically enchanced action in for good measure.
With lots of depth in the combat system and some pretty darn good graphics for the Wii system on show, this could be a good alternative to the Halo hype machine.
Over on the Sony side we see a perennial oddity in the form of Katamari Forever (E) rolling its way onto retail shelves. Having never played a Katamari game before I found my first hour with the game head-scratching to say the least. But its charm and humour quickly won me round and games don't come more quirky and bizarre than this.
On the PSP, Atlus has touched up and updated the original Persona (T) game for the handhold. With some new impressive cutscenes and intricate & deep battle system, this is one hardcore JRPG that will keep anyone engrossed in its world for hours.
In the UK, Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2 (PG) heads up this weeks family gaming releases as you get to create and customise your own ultimate superhero team. The first game was a favourite of mine so I'm looking forward to seeing the improvements in this sequel.
